About Clark School
Our Mission Statement
At Clark School, we provide a customized learning approach that embraces innovation. Parents, teachers, and students are jointly accountable in ensuring student success while fostering an empathetic community. Clark School cultivates resilient and compassionate problem solvers, while recognizing that success takes many forms.
Dedicated to personal growth and lifelong learning
Founded in 1978, Clark School is particularly appropriate for all types of students. Clark is unique in that we accept students who demonstrate high intellectual, creative or leadership abilities, have learning differences, or are looking for a 21st Century learning experience. Clark School students respond to an environment that encourages them to develop their talents fully, in and out of the classroom. The school emphasizes positive personal values, high achievement and meaningful participation in the community.
Clark School offers a stimulating multi-age learning environment for children in Preschool through High School. While schools elsewhere are forced to cope with unmanageable class sizes, our PreK-12 classes do not exceed 15 students. We provide an environment that is safe and free of most of the usual discipline issues inherent in many parochial and public schools.
We strive to enlighten and strengthen each student by providing valuable tools to support them as they develop
problem-solving skills
deductive reasoning
good study habits
executive functioning skills
time management
self-advocacy
social pragmatics
Our strong academic curriculum emphasizes each student's strengths. Small classes allow for personal attention to each child's needs and students are encouraged to excel at their own pace in each subject area. Students also have many opportunities to develop an awareness and appreciation of the arts and technology and to find satisfaction in self-expression and creative endeavors.
Our families come to us from many areas
Clark School families primarily live on the North Shore and Merrimack Valley (Amesbury, Andover, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Lawrence, Merrimack, Methuen, Newbury, Newburyport, North Andover, Rowley, Salisbury, and West Newbury). Many come as far as New Hampshire and suburban Boston!
We currently have transportation routes for students in K-12 from Swampscott/Beverly/Salem, North Andover/Methuen/Amesbury, and Burlington/Lynnfield/Danvers.
